ASK, SEARCH, FIND!

Lectionary passage: Luke 11:9-10 (NRSV) -  "So I say to you, Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened."

Just ask, it will be given you.
        Just search, and you will find.
Just knock, the door will open, for
        true prayers are not declined.

But does it matter what I ask,
        or what I’m searching for?
And what if I am knocking hard
        at some improper door?

The ”it” that will be given you,
        for which you search and find,
will be what you ask for if you
        love God ---heart, soul, and mind!

Just ask, it will be given you.
        Just search, and you will find.
Just knock, the door will open, for
        true prayers are not declined.
